I accidently discovered your blog tonight and read the whole thing! I’m a huge Fogelberg fan and your stories have put a lump in my throat.

I saw him several times, but my favorite show was in ’99 at Red Rocks. It had poured rain all day and all during poor Eliza Gilkyson’s opening set. About ten minutes before Dan came out the rain stopped for the rest of the night. As usual he closed with a “Gambler” sing along, but this time it went on forever. I had chills down my back! To this day I get a little smile on my face every time I hear that song.

I would have given anything to have met him, but through you I feel like I know him just a little. Thanks so much!

I want to thank you for having shared this blog with all of us.

Regretfully, I never met Dan, nor did I have the pleasure of seeing him live in concert; but, like many others, I have had the pleasure of his beautiful music and lyrics for most of my life. And, like many others, I have felt an inexplicable sense of loss with his passing. I cannot imagine how exponential that loss must feel to you, to Jean, and to his family.

Thanks again for sharing the Dan you knew with us; it has brought a lot of comfort and smiles to all of us – hopefully it did the same for you. I do hope that you will check in from time to time on this blog to share more stories of your adventures with Dan, as well as with news of your own.
